Quick trip over to Paris

On Monday it was time to get to Paris. We took the 'Chunnel' and arrived safe and sound! The most impressive to me, in Paris, was Notre Dame. The Eiffel Tower came in second. The views from the tower are outstanding. We began our journey at St. Pancras Station which took us to Gare du Nord Station in Paris. After hitching a ride on the underground, we arrived into the city of Paris, facing Notre Dame. It was breathtaking! We then boarded a river cruise and sailed down (or up?) the Seine River, hopping off when we got to the Eiffel Tower. Pictures include some of the magnificent buildings along our river route.

Got a train to catch!!!

Notre Dame - the first site we saw when we got off the underground and came up the stairs. Breath-taking!!
Got on the River Seine Cruise and shot pictures of the most amazing buildings and bridges along the way.

Views of the city of Paris from the second level of the Eiffel Tower. We did not go up to the third (top) level. This was high enough for me!!

Back down to earth, the view in the picture above is of the Eiffel Tower as I was standing on the ground next to it looking up. Massive Structure!!

Various views of numerous structures from the River Seine Cruise

View of some of the intricate stonework - just amazing!

View of Notre Dame from standing on ground position

A close up view of Notre Dame (in pics below) then back to the underground to get back to Gare du Nord to catch the last train to London. Not enough time in Paris, but time enough to get a look at the city, stop at a streetside cafe and have French Onion Soup, a sandwich and a glass of wine.
