Isle of Skye

After leaving Eilean Donan Castle, our tour bus made its way across the bridge to the Isle of Skye. Before getting there, we stopped for lunch in a charming village on the coast. We had a choice of places for lunch, a restaurant or food from the deli in a grocery store and sit out by the coast to enjoy lunch and the view. Of course, we chose the latter. Seagulls joined us as we sat on a bench to eat a sandwich and the birds were 'squealing' and waiting for handouts!!

After lunch, we proceeded on across the bridge to the Isle of Skye!

This is located in the far western penisula of Scotland.

We traveled up the coast to the farthest point at the end of the Strathaird Peninsula. There we found the fishing village of Elgol, a lovely little gift shop and snack bar area as well as a library van that showed up weekly so the locals could check out books from the library. !! Very removed from other villages, Gaelic with English translations. Scenes along the way as we motored northward to the 'end' of Scotland on the south-westward side! The tops of the Cullin Mountains can be seen to the west.

Traveling back 'down' the coast of the Isle of Skye to Inverness.
